MediaWhat Is Eco Rewards?
Eco Rewards for Travel Choices is a compelling proposition to encourage people to switch from using the car and reward them for regularly and continually using alternative means of travel, including cycling, walking, car-sharing and public transport.
Employees, students and residents making regular journeys can earn Eco Rewards for every return trip or ticket purchased in their scheme area. Cycling and walk to work/school schemes are included and are rewarded where participation can be recorded and verified.
The Eco Rewards can be exchanged for free offers, discounted products and cashback financial rewards from over 2000 retailers. The cashback can be collected by the individual or donated to a local charity or community organisation to help them raise funds. There is no cost to the scheme operator or service providers for the value of the rewards earnt. Eco Rewards provide an additional incentive for people to use alternative modes of transport which is not treated as remuneration and is funded by the 2000+ Eco Rewards retailers.
Walk to work/school and cycle schemes will require recording and reporting each journey claimed which will be organised with participating employers and schools. There are manual and automated methods which will be used to track participation. Each qualifying journey can be rewarded with points worth up to £2.50/day.
Online Shoppers spend billions a year using various websites. Most websites keep the referral commission they earn from the retailer, but we use the commission to finance the Eco Rewards scheme and pay our members as cashback.
Our members can decide to keep the money or donate a proportion or all of it to charity or cause of their choice. They will have the option of offsetting their carbon emissions through their earnings, by buying carbon credits from approved organisations.
We partner with more than 2000 online retailers, supermarkets, fashion stores and service providers including Currys, Comet, Dixons, M&S, PCWorld, Boots, WHSmith, BT, Tesco and John Lewis.
How Much Can Online Shoppers Earn? Please see the "how much can I earn" cashback calculator on the right menu for example savings.
Examples include £70 cashback for getting a Home Insurance from Churchill, 3% cashback for purchases from Dell, £120 cashback from Sky, £60 for buying a mobile phone contract from Dial-a-phone etc.
Where Does The Money Come From? The money we pay our members, participating organisations and scheme administrator comes from the advertising budget of the retailer.
Retailers spend billions a year on online marketing and pay commissions to websites for referring sales. This is the money we pay as cashback, donate to charities or offset carbon.
